Visit Crested but and enjoy our convenient lift service for extraordinary skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort on more than 1,000 acres of beginner, intermediate, expert and extreme terrain and 2,775 vertical feet of pure exhilaration. The WestWall lift stretches practically to your doorstep, so you won’t have to venture far before you are up and on your way.
In the summer, two base area chairs remain open so you can explore your favorite slopes on your mountain bike without worrying about the uphill climb.
Trails hurtle through aspen groves and meadows of wildflowers for the beginner, intermediate and expert rider. Or, you can use the Silver Queen lift to get you closer to climbing the peak of Mt. Crested Butte at 12,162 feet.
Take a 4×4 excursion to the historic mining towns of Gothic and Schofield while experiencing crystalline waterfalls and waist high wildflowers. Stop in at the General Store in Gothic for an ice cream before your tour with a renowned scientist from the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory. Continue over Paradise Divide for a picnic above treeline then descend into Washington Gulch and finally home. Now that’s a day.
Making our Crested Butte Lodging establishment your base brings you closer access to the deep backcountry of the Maroon Bells – Snowmass Wilderness area. From there hike to Copper Lake perched in the high tundra. Or, summit a peak and experience the entire Rocky Mountain range lapping at your feet like waves.
Aspen-clad Snodgrass Mountain is only a short shuttle away for cruising intermediate single track on your bike in the summer or embracing the peacefulness of snowshoe and cross-country skiing in the winter.
The Upper Loop and the paved Rec Path are easy ambles into the town of Crested Butte with the trailheads located only blocks from the WestWall Lodge. A short three-mile bike, hike or ski through sagebrush, aspens and wetlands will have you out of doors and in town in no time.
Utilizing our Concierge Service during your Crested Butte visit you can accentuate your stay with horseback and hot air balloon rides, rafting trips, and fly fishing excursions. Have them reserve your tee times at the Club at Crested Butte, a Robert Trent Jones II championship golf course. If you’re looking for a professional guide to get you safely into the mountains climbing, biking or hiking, they can arrange that too.
